Metal Church - Blessing In Disguise (1989)

Metal Church went through a couple of notable changes from The Dark to this point. They parted ways with original vocalist David Wayne (who remains iconic, RIP, and guitarist/mainman Kurdt Vanderhoof stepped back from the band, but remained involved in writing and stellar contributing in the studio… like he plays on this album despite having enlisted guitarist John Marshall to replace him. Despite the unfortunate split with Wayne, new singer Mike Howe is a strong vocalist and does a fantastic job carving his own signature sound within Metal Church. Amazing album.

1989 US pressing on Elektra. As you can see, this one is still in the shrink wrap… which I think is kind of dumb, but I like the original price tag along with the one I hadda pay from Academy Records, hah. I’ll probably ditch the shrink soon, but keep the price tags and the hype sticker, of course.
