It’s not uncommon for progressive rock fans to argue the specifics of the musical decline of Amon Düül II… some say it goes down fast after Vive La Trance or any other album after that. I agree that the band begin to change their sound 1974, but not sure if I’d call it worse, just different. The early ADII albums, for me, are where it’s at… still, the band maintains an interesting evolution throughout the 1970s, even if that did move them into stripped down and modernized sounds.
