This archival collection features Culprit’s early demos from 1980 and 1983, along with a bonus track from the 1981 US Metal II compilation. The material is impressive, but what stands out most is their 1980 demo. At a time when Iron Maiden had just released their debut album, Culprit was already delivering fully developed heavy metal with comparable songcraft—yet they didn’t achieve the same level of success as their contemporaries. It’s remarkable to hear, and I’m stoked to have these classic recordings on vinyl to enjoy on the hi-fi. Seattle legends!
2021 release on Portuguese label Lost Realm Records. Fantastic inserts and history included too. Love this crazy little release.
