This album marks a significant shift in the band’s sound, evolving from their hardcore punk roots toward a more experimental and melodic approach. I admit that I did not so much connect with this LP back in ‘88, nor did I connect with melody all that much as a teen, but hindsight helps me both understand the true qualities of the record and also gives clarity around the directional shift.
Original 1988 US pressing on Touch & Go Records. Found this at a small shop just outside of Detroit a few years back, still sealed.
