Oh this album… Released in 1986, this is the only album by the band Exorcist, a side project of members from Virgin Steele, including David DeFeis and Edward Pursino. The album is a blend of speed metal and thrash with strong horror-themed lyrics and atmospheres, designed to be a tribute to classic horror films and the darker side of metal. What’s crazy is that the idea worked and this is still considered a cult classic of underground metal to this day. I love the shit out of it.
2016 German reissue from High Roller Records and it’s a gem.
