Fantastic doom metal outta Maryland. Black Night, released in 1993, is a defining album in the doom metal genre, heavily influenced by the sound of early Black Sabbath. Led by guitarist Alfred Morris III, the band delivers a crushing, riff-driven sound that combines slow, heavy grooves with dark, ominous atmospheres. Vocals are objectively lacking, but the band is otherwise perfect here.
2012 US reissue from Shadow Kingdom Records and it’s a beautiful thing.
