Melechesh are one of my favorite and most unexpectedly excellent bands to emerge from the late 1990s black metal scene. Not exactly black metal in the purest sense, Melechesh creates a sort of Sumerian black metal unlike any others. Limply fascinating and beautiful. And yes… brutality awaits.
