After a considerable gap, Melechesh returned in 2001 with their phenomenal Djinn album. A perfect balance of metal and Sumerian musical sensibilities, it remains one of my favorite metal albums of the early 2000s. Original drummer Lord Curse recorded the demos for this, but stepped away when the band relocated to Europe and was replaced by Absu drummer and main man Proscriptor.
2016 French reissue on Osmose Productions. This edition includes the full Djinn album on the first LP and the 1998 Djinn demos recorded while the band were still in Israel, with Lord Curse on drums.
