After a weekend spent attending punk and metal shows, I’m ready to change things up a bit. Kind of Blue is of course widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential jazz recordings of all time and rightly so. This is where jazz music gets really interesting for me. Davis opens up previously unexplored possibilities, giving space for exploration, improvisation, and feel. So damn good.
1990s US reissue on Columbia. Not the best era for vinyl reissues, but a perfectly serviceable copy nonetheless. .
