This album doesn’t need a lot of introduction. Slayer’s debut release and one of the first thrash metal albums out there, along with Metallica’s Kill ‘Em All. Of course Slayer’s vibe is completely different, but at the time both bands were considered equally viscous. To say I was heavily into Slayer during my teenage years is a gross understatement. This first one is much more melodic [?!] maybe more traditionally composed that what the band would be known for l… even by 1984, they’d get way more aggressive. Love this one tons.
1983 US pressing on Metal Blade Records. Had forever and it’s still a flawless player.
