Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso UFO - In C (2001)

In C is an experimental reinterpretation of Terry Riley’s minimalist composition of the same name. Obviously known for their psychedelic rock and avant-garde style, Acid Mothers Temple brings a unique, spacey intensity to Riley’s foundational piece, expanding it with distorted guitars, deep synths, and hypnotic layers. This version infuses the minimalist roots with elements of drone, noise, and improvisational rock, transforming the meditative original into a dynamic, otherworldly soundscape that reflects the band’s cosmic, boundary-pushing ethos. In summary, this album is bonkers. Recommended if you have a brain for the drugs music (as I do).

2001 US pressing on Eclipse Records. Picked this up in Las Vegas of all places at a shop called Record City. Pretty sure this is the first AMT album I had landed on vinyl… I only have a few LPs from their massive discography.
