Beckett (1974)

I know only a little bit about this band outside of their relation to Iron Maiden. Firstly, I was quite enamored with Maiden’s 1984 cover of their track “A Rainbow’s Gold” land later became aware of a lawsuit over credits regarding the Beckett track “Life’s Shadow” and similarities with Maiden’s “Hallowed Be Thy Name”… which don’t really track for infringement to me, despite some passing influence. Anyway, this is some pretty good 1970s heavy rock with slight progressive leaning here and there. Worth a listen if you’re into Iron Maiden and/or ‘70s heavy rock. M

1974 original UK pressing on Raft Records. I stumbled across this at a record show a few years ago for like $15 and it’s mint. Still can’t believe it. The only time I’ve ever seen this in the wild.
