Released in 1974, L.A./59 is the second album by Elf, Also known as Carolina County Ball outside the United States, the album continued to blend bluesy rock with Dio’s powerful, distinctive voice. The songs on L.A./59 feature band’s trademark boogie-rock style with just a shade of heavy rock vibes. Produced by Deep Purple’s Roger Glover, the album further solidified Elf’s reputation and Dio’s growing influence, paving the way for his eventual success with bands like Rainbow and Black Sabbath.
