Scolopendra, released in 1972 by the Italian band Gli Alluminogeni, is a low-key gem of early Italian progressive rock. The album showcases a blend of heavy rock riffs, psychedelic influences, and classical touches, characteristic of the progressive rock scene in Italy at the time. I’ve had this on my radar for decades and only found a copy earlier this year in Barcelona. Great album and the only release by this largely unknown trio.
2022 Italian reissue on the Vinyl Magic label and it’s a good one.
