Iron Claw’s self-titled album is a compilation of the Scottish band’s recordings from 1970 to 1974. This collection showcases their pioneering contributions to the heavy rock and proto-metal scene and could be one of the earliest examples of what would later be known as “Sabbath worship “. The band’s lineup during these recordings included Alex Wilson on bass, Jimmy Ronnie on guitar, Ian McDougall on drums, and vocalists Mike Waller and Wullie Davidson. Most of the tracks in this collection had not been released until 2009, making this a crucial pickup for anyone into heavy rock and proto-metal. Fantastic shit!
2021 US reissue from Rockadrome/Lion. All around great.
