Quatermass (1970)

Quatermass’s self-titled 1970 debut album is a bold blend of progressive rock, jazz, and classical influences, notable for its heavy reliance on keyboards in place of the typical guitar-led sound. The British trio—comprising bassist and vocalist John Gustafson, keyboardist J. Peter Robinson, and drummer Mick Underwood—crafted a powerful and unique sound, distinguished by Robinson’s classically influenced organ and synthesizer work. Pretty killer album for a band that were initially just a blip on the radar at the time. This is in fact their only LP.

1970 US pressing on Harvest. My copy is a bit rough, but plays well.
