This is the debut full-length album by Norwegian band The 3rd and the Mortal It is widely recognized as a pioneering work in the doom metal and gothic metal genres, blending ethereal, atmospheric soundscapes with heavy, melancholic riffs. The haunting and delicate vocals of Kari Rueslåtten are a standout, weaving through the somber instrumentals and lending an almost otherworldly quality to the music. The album is both haunting and poetic, exploring themes of sorrow, nature, and introspection… Simultaneously beautiful and haunting this album is always a great listen.
2021 Norwegian reissue on Indie Recordings and it’s a perfectly fitting release. Lovely!
