Little Games is The Yardbirds’ fourth studio album and marks the band’s last with guitarist Jimmy Page before their transformation into Led Zeppelin. The album, produced by Mickie Most, reflects the band’s transition from blues-based rock to a more psychedelic sound. Featuring songs like the title track “Little Games” and “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor,” it showcases Page’s inventive guitar work and experimental techniques, such as the use of a bow on his guitar. An excellent, yet unusual Yardbirds album and especially cool platter for Zeppelin fans.
1967 US pressing on Epic Records. Picked this up for $2.50 at a shop in Las Vegas due to it being pretty heavily warped (like a slight bowl shape), but the fucker somehow plays perfectly on my setup. Will probably replace it someday, but all cool with this one for now.
