Saw Delight marks a notable change in the band’s lineup and sound. With bassist Rosko Gee and percussionist Rebop Kwaku Baah—both formerly of Traffic—joining the group, the album incorporates elements of Afrobeat, funk, and world music into Can’s experimental rock framework. The album represents a departure from the band’s earlier, more avant-garde works, leaning toward a more polished and accessible sound. From what I’ve read, folks were unsure about the band’s direction at this point, but Saw Delight holds up nicely.
2014 US reissue from Spoon Records/Mute.
