Coroner - Grin (1993)

Grin marked a bold and experimental departure for Coroner, blending their technical thrash metal roots with a more groove-oriented and atmospheric sound. The album explores darker, almost industrial textures, incorporating unconventional rhythms, dissonant melodies, and a heavy focus on mood and repetition. Even the production leans toward a colder, more mechanical tone, mirroring the album’s themes of inner turmoil and existential dread. A polarizing album for many thrash metal folks, for me, this album is superb, but I’m a weirdo…

2018 European reissue from Noise/BMG and it’s absolutely beautiful. Top notch reissue and way overdue.
