In case I haven’t already emphasized my undying love for Canadian thrash metal, specifically bands from Quebec and Ontario, which rival the US West Coast thrash scene as well as the massive German scene in the 80s. Most Canadian bands are superior in a lot of ways, but didn’t seem to get the coverage their US and German counterparts enjoyed at the time. DBC’s Universe album should be huge! Here, the band explores sci-fi themes and complex lyrical concepts, distinguishing it from their self-titled debut. The music features intricate guitar work, dynamic tempo shifts, and relentless energy, pushing the boundaries of the thrash metal genre at the time. An undeniable masterpiece!
