The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway is a concept album by Genesis and the final studio album to feature Peter Gabriel as lead vocalist. A sprawling double album, it tells the surreal and allegorical story of Rael, a Puerto Rican youth navigating a series of bizarre and symbolic encounters in a mythical underworld. Musically, the album blends intricate compositions, theatrical storytelling, and atmospheric soundscapes. Often considered one of the best prog albums ever made, it’s pretty much essential listening for anyone checking out 70s prog.
1974 US pressing on Atco Records.
