A Trick Of The Tail is Genesis’s first album following the departure of lead vocalist Peter Gabriel and marks the debut of drummer Phil Collins as the band’s new frontman. The album exhibits a seamless transition, with Genesis delivering a blend of their progressive rock roots and a slightly more accessible sound. An undisputed success, A Trick Of The Tail reaffirmed Genesis’s status as a leading progressive rock band in the mid 70s, despite Gabriel’s departure. Collins has a killer set of pipes too, so plenty to enjoy.
