Genesis - Wind & Wuthering (1977)

Wind & Wuthering is the last studio album to feature guitarist Steve Hackett, marking the end of an era for the band’s progressive rock phase. Inspired by themes of loss, love, and English literary traditions, the album showcases a lush, atmospheric sound, blending complex arrangements with a refined sense of melody. In Hackett’s absence, the band would move towards more commercial directions, to massive commercial success, I have to say. However, for me, it’s the progressive rock of Genesis that I like best. Beautiful album!

1977 US pressing on Atco Records.
