I hadn’t realized this album came out as late as 2014 and it took me a moment to reconcile that fact. The Day the Sun Died marks Sanctuary’s triumphant return after a 25-year hiatus, delivering a powerful blend of classic heavy metal and modern intensity. The album showcases the band’s evolution while staying true to their roots, with Warrel Dane’s hauntingly emotive vocals leading the charge. Lyrically, it explores themes of despair, existential dread, and societal decay, set against a backdrop of soaring melodies and crushing riffs. Seattle metal vibes all the way! Do not care what critics say, this album crushes!
2014 European pressing from Century Media and it’s awesome. Came with a CD copy of the full album and includes the Doors cover “Waiting For The Sun”. Very nice!
