Solitude Aeturnus - Adagio (1998)

Adagio marks a continuation of Solitude Aeturnus’ vibe of introspective and sorrowful themes, with Robert Lowe’s hauntingly emotive vocals leading the charge. Tracks like “Days of Prayer” and “Personal God” combine crushing, doom-laden riffs with intricate guitar harmonies, creating a dynamic interplay between darkness and beauty. The production on Adagio is more polished than that of of predecessor Downfall, allowing the band’s layered arrangements and melancholic undertones to shine through with clarity and power. One of the band’s most accomplished efforts and a continuously engaging listening experience all these years later.

2017 UK reissue from Back On Black. Landed this at a London heavy metal record store called Crypt Of The Wizard. Fantastic shop too!
