Blue Cheer - Outsideinside (1968)

Outsideinside is Blue Cheer’s second album and a continuation of the band’s heavy, fuzzed-out sound that helped define the hazy early days of hard rock and heavy metal. Recorded partly in studios and partly outdoors (hence the name), the album captures a raw, unrestrained energy while showcasing a slightly more refined approach compared to their debut, Vincebus Eruptum. Pre-Sabbath proto-metal, all the way.

1968 US pressing on Philips. It’s a good player, but whew… this one’s been around.
