This is a bootleg release of Can playing live in Cologne, Germany in February 1972. My guess is that this is a very well done audience recording — it is raw and unpolished, but captures the band’s hypnotic rhythms, pulsating basslines, and the mesmerizing interplay between members. While the exact details of the recording’s origin are murky, Horror Trip in the Paper House is a badass live document of Can at their tightest and most creative.
Hand silk-screened Italian repress on Blue Sea Recordings, possibly from 2014? I remember hesitating when I first picked this up, but so glad I took it home.
