Moontower is a prog-death metal masterpiece that feels like a one-man journey through the cosmos. Packed with lush keyboards, crushing riffs, and Swanö’s powerful growls, it blends the melodic and the brutal in a way that’s uniquely his own. The album’s mix of ‘70s prog influences and modern death metal gives it an otherworldly vibe, like Opeth jamming with Genesis in some alternate universe, hah. Swanö plays all instruments on this album! Everything! Ambitious, atmospheric, and absolutely amazing.
2017 European reissue from Black Mark and I love it. Got into a bidding war on eBay for this on CD many moons ago and may have paid more for the CD than the LP.
