Destruction - Mad Butcher (1987)

Destruction’s Mad Butcher is a prime example of how essential the 3-5 song EP format was for thrash metal bands back in the 1980s. Bands would often release these formats to keep fans engaged between records and they were generally a great format for artists to let loose with rare tracks, covers, and alternate versions of songs, old or new. This EP is a few of these… a new recording of “Mad Butcher”, a Plasmatics cover, and two new tracks exclusive to this release. Just under 19 minutes of absolute thrash metal.

1988 US pressing from Steamhammer with a gold promo stamp on the front cover. Also, translucent red vinyl, which wasn’t all that common for thrash vinyl pressings in the 80s.
