I wish I had rounded up more Low vinyl back when I was going hard with much of the lo-fi bands on the Kranky label back in the 1990s. While I did round up a good number of Low albums on CD, my collection of their material is nowhere near where it should be. This album is soft, gentle, cold - but exudes the feel of a warm house in the midst of a frozen landscape. “Born By The Wires” is absolutely sublime… the entire album is a work of beauty.
1997 US pressing on Kranky. Found used at Amoeba Music in San Francisco a few years back. Sooo good!
