Mekong Delta - Classics (1993)

Mekong Delta’s Classics album is packed with reinterpretations of classical compositions, blending shredding guitars, pounding drums, and intricate arrangements with the grandeur of composers like Mussorgsky and Bernard Hermann. It’s technical, intense, and somehow still manages to feel cohesive, While something like this would normally be a pass for me, Mekong Delta has a way of making tracks like this an entirely unique and enjoyable listen.

2023 limited German reissue from a label called The Devil’s Elixers and it’s great. Includes the excellent Aram Khatchaturian composition of “Sabre Dance” which was not present in the original album.
