One of the greatest progressive thrash metal albums I’ve ever heard. The whole of side A is taking up by the insanely epic title track “Dances Of Death”, clocking in at just over 19 minutes without a dull moment. American vocalist Doug Lee makes his debut with the band and his contributions are an immediate level up. The album remains strong throughout, including a blistering rendition of Mussorgsky’s “Night On A Bare Mountain”. A masterpiece, all the way.
2017 German reissue from Aaarrg Records and it’s awesome.
