In Hearing Of marked a shift in Atomic Rooster’s sound, blending their signature heavy organ-driven rock with a more refined and melodic approach. With new vocalist Pete French, the album introduced a soulful edge to the band’s music, complementing Vincent Crane’s dynamic keyboard work and John Du Cann’s biting guitar riffs. Interesting fact is that Peter French and John DuCann had not met at the time this album was recorded. French later noted that the band illustration of them coming pit of the giant horn depicted a group that never existed. Still, this album smokes!
1971 US pressing from Electra and I have zero complaints here. It’s ummmmazing!
