Crosswinds is handily delivers atmospheric compositions and intricate rhythms, blending elements of jazz, rock, Caribbean and funk. The album presents moments of tranquility and blasts of energy with Cobham blazing ahead while his band fills it all out with all the right sounds to deliver another masterful slab of tunes. Listen to this and live.
1974 US pressing from Atlantic. While Spectrum was the first Billy Cobham I heard, Crosswinds was the first I bought. I had high expectations and it still blew me out of the water.
