Easily one of the greatest records I have, Spectrum is a landmark in the fusion genre, blending elements of rock, funk, and jazz with technical precision and powerful energy. Cobham’s virtuosic drumming drives the album, while contributions from guitarist Tommy Bolin, keyboardist Jan Hammer, and bassist Lee Sklar add rich layers to the way it all sounds. Hot damn! This album fucking smokes! Soooo good!
1975 US repress on Atlantic. This album was a bit of a rehab project. Dirty and with a grubby sleeve with seam splits. After some deep cleaning and repair to the sleeve, it’s good as even and plays like the beautiful gem that it is.
