Camel - Breathless (1978)

Breathless finds Camel balancing their progressive rock roots with a more accessible, melodic approach. The album is also notable as the last appearance of founding member Peter Bardens, whose keyboard work has brought much depth and feel to the band’s sound throughout the years. I’m still not super familiar with Breathless, but at this early point I like it a little less than Rain Dances… we’ll see. It’s very lightweight, but I’ve said this before and ate my words so who knows.

1979 US pressing on Arista. I had picked this up at a record show back in November and only now giving it a full spin. Very clean.
