Geezer Butler - Black Science (1997)

Black Science is the second album from Geezer Butler’s solo band and their first with vocalist Clarke Brown… who was (is?) basically an unknown prior to his time with Geezer’s band. Musically, the album is slightly less industrial feeling and the band has adopted more traditional approaches to composition, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing when done right. Brown is more of a melodic type singer, and while he doesn’t really stand out as amazing, he fits right into what the band is doing here. While not as outwardly aggressive as Plastic Planet, I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest Black Science might be the best of the three Geezer albums.

2020 European pressing (first time on vinyl for this too) from BMG. Picked this up from an HMV inside a mall in Reading, UK, of all places.
