Fire, Water, Earth & Air explores Jane’s unique use of psychedelic and symphonic elements, creating a warm and atmospheric listening experience. The album features expansive compositions with rich instrumental layers, including soaring guitar solos, lush keyboard arrangements, and dynamic shifts in tempo and mood. The thematic focus on the four classical elements gives the record a conceptual cohesion, with each track embodying a different aspect of nature’s power and mystery. While Jane can be a little weak with vocals, the band more than makes up for it with strong compositions, killer playing, and absolutely beautiful production aesthetics. Criminality underrated group. If you dig Pink Floyd and Eloy, then Jane might be for you.
1976 German pressing on Brain. I believe I got this at a record show in Seattle many years ago and it plays like a gem. The cover has a laminated coating over it that is starting to come apart, but the underlying sleeve is otherwise in perfect condition. Looks all crappy in this state, but I’m not going to be the guy that tears it off, haha.
