While already on their third album, Pay In Metal finds Krokus still working out their sonic identity, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t awesome. Despite the title, the record is still footed in 1970s blues infused hard rock. Chris Von Rohr moves from the drum stool to the mic and takes on lead vocals and he’s not bad either, but the band will bring in Marc Storace after this and he will help them cement their legacy.
1978 Netherlands pressing from Mercury Records. Great copy! This album was marketed under the title Pain Killer and Pay It In Metal ant the same time and had a few cover variations, shown below. Only the first two images are of my actual copy, the other three are pulled from Discogs.
