In A Mirror Darkly weaves intricate, classically inspired compositions with aggressive riffing, shifting time signatures, and dynamic arrangements that demand close attention. Ralph Hubert’s bass work provides a strong foundation, while the guitar interplay delivers both ferocity and finesse, balancing melody with dissonance. Questionable CGI art aside, the album itself is a thing of beauty.
2014 German pressing from Steamhammer Records. I got this on the cheap a few years back and it still can be had for less than $20 on Discogs. Crazy cheap for how good it actually is.
