Sun Meditation was initially the only album released by German stoner/doom metal act Naevus before they split in 1999 (they eventually reformed in 2012). Sun Meditation, while not blazing any new paths in musical exploration, is solid as fuck and is a nice example of the strong state of the stoner/doom metal sound of the late 1990s… when most shit was getting lightweight, the stoner/doom movement, and bands like Naevus, kept that heavy rock sound alive.
2017 UK reissue from Rise Above Records and first ever time pressed on vinyl. Sounds awesome. Just found this brand new at a local shop for $17 and figured I’d have regrets if I didn’t bring it home.
