Suspended Cadences features two live improvisations for analogue electronics and guitar, each approximately 20 minutes long. The album presents two variations on a theme: “(Three)” delivers an intense, high-energy experience, while “(Four)” offers a more introspective and concentrated atmosphere. Notably, Hampson eschews computer manipulations, opting instead for direct-to-stereo recordings to capture the immediacy and authenticity of his performances. This work coincided with the previously posted Signaux, which is a similar exploration of Hampson’s electroacoustic composition works. I love this kind of stuff when it’s dark and rainy out and I can’t do really much but let the music take me on a journey.
2012 Austrian pressing from Editions Mego. Got this and Signaux at the same time and they are both primo copies.
