The 2019 self-titled album by Saint Vitus delivers a raw, unfiltered take on doom metal, with a blend of slow, crushing riffs and a gritty, almost punk-infused energy. Dave Chandler’s signature guitar tone remains as thick and ominous as ever, while returning vocalist Scott Reagers’ dramatic vocal delivery brings an eerie, theatrical edge to the album’s dark themes. Chandler’s lead work on this album is out there… like weird, but awesome at the same time (guitar theorists might disagree). Much to love here.
2019 US/EU pressing from Season Of Mist and it’s great.
