While devoid of hits, Spaceship Earth, finds Sugarloaf further expanding on their own fusion of rock, jazz, and psychedelic elements. Like its predecessor, the album features a mix of tightly arranged songs and extended instrumental passages. There some nice evolution here, and yet the band isn’t chasing another “Green-Eyed Lady” level hit, and that’s really cool about the album to me. Solid LP!
1971 US pressing on Liberty. While purchased decades later, I got this at the same damn record show I purchased the first one at back in the 1980s. The more the things change… and all that. Great copy.
