Hideous cover art seems to be the point with Acid Reign’s Obnoxious LP. I hadn’t paid much attention to Acid Reign over the years but stumbled across a couple of their albums yesterday on the cheap and decided to give ‘em a shot. Obnoxious being first up, I am surprised in that this is a bit more technical than I would have expected and it’s actually solid. Thrash didn’t really take root with most UK metal acts, so this these fellas are already a bit of an unusual case… factor in it actually being good AND three members from this band eventually joined doom legends Cathedral and they rate full blown curiosity status. Hah. Dumb jokes aside, this album is great.
