Technical Ecstasy features a more eclectic sound from what Sabbath fans would expect, incorporating elements beyond their traditional proto-doom metal style. I’ve read the band was struggling heavily with cocaine and writers block, and you can almost feel them reaching for something, anything, with this album. While I found it hard to connect to this one, listening to it nowadays, I can see how it fits into the band’s journey. Check out most of Black Sabbath’s other Ozzy material before this, but don’t skip its… there’s some gold in here.
1976 US pressing from Warner Bros. Had this copy since dinosaurs walked the earth.
