The Sane Asylum is the debut album by Blind Illusion. Produced by Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, the album blends traditional heavy metal with thrash and prog and the band have a unique sound. With Les Claypool on bass and Larry LaLonde on guitar—both future members of Primus—the album carries a unique, experimental energy that doesn’t sound like Primus or LaLonde’s previous band, Possessed. Interesting and solid LP.
