Willy And The Poor Boys features enduring tracks like “Down on the Corner” and “Fortunate Son,” which blend catchy melodies with sharp social commentary. The band’s ability to infuse traditional American music styles with contemporary rock elements is evident throughout the record and it brought them quick success. This is the band’s fourth album overall and they’re their release in 1969, which is wild to me. Damn good.
1969 US pressing on Fantasy Records.
