Infernal represents the collaborative end to Edge Of Sanity. While the album contains a lot of good material, there is a creative divide between Dan Swanö wanting to take the band further into progressive and melodic directions and guitarist Andreas Axelsson pushing for more aggression. As a result, the album goes back and forth between both styles and highlights their diverging directions. Swanö would leave Edge Of Sanity after this while Axelsson and company would record one more album titled Cryptic before splitting up. Swanö would once again resurrect the Edge Of Sanity moniker and release Crimson II in 2003, but that was essentially solo effort.
2025 reissue from Century Media. Dan Swanö has personally remastered all of these latest reissues and they sound fantastic.
